Ankeny Girls Softball Association

Xtreme Xtra!

August 25th, 2023

Hello Ankeny Xtreme Families!

I hope you all had a great summer and have had a good start to the school year.  First of all, I want to welcome all of our new families to Ankeny Xtreme!  You are joining a healthy, growing organization that proudly has alumni on two State Tournament teams including the State Champion, Ankeny Centennial Jaguars.  Our goal is to continue that success in the community for the foreseeable future.

The Ankeny Girls Softball Association Board has been working hard on preparations for the 2023-2024 season focused around coach and player development, apparel, fundraising and making sure the over 700 girls that play in our recreational and competitive programs are having fun while developing athletically, mentally and socially while playing the game of softball.

I want to take this opportunity to share our mission as a competitive organization with multiple teams in each age division.  We are focused on the development of our players to allow them to excel at the appropriate level (A, B, C).  Our goal is to be an organization that puts the best teams on the field at the A, B and C levels.  We want kids to develop their skills, regardless of the level they play, to advance within Ankeny Xtreme, to the high school level and beyond, if that’s the goal for an individual player.

We work to develop our coaches to put them in positions to teach, mentor and ready your daughters for competition.  We expect a lot out of our coaches and they accept the roles they are in.  They are expected to be positive leaders and to communicate with players and parents expectations and areas for improvement.  I am excited about the group of committed coaches we have in this program.  The amount of time that they volunteer goes beyond the time you see them on the field.  Please thank them for their commitment to your daughters!

As we prepare for our 2023-2024 season, I ask that everyone read the Ankeny Girls Softball Association Coach and Parents Code of Conduct.  These are put in place to remind us that our roles are to make this all about the girls and their development.  I am looking forward to a successful, fun year of rooting on our 25 Ankeny Xtreme teams and 260+ players!!!

GO XTREME!

AGSA Board President
