Hello Ankeny Xtreme Families!

What a great season it has been so far! There has been a lot of success in the organization by our teams and our players. It has been fun to follow teams on the weekends (via USSSA app and GameChanger) and see the players MVP pictures posted by Central Iowa Sports. What I love is that there are a lot of families in the organization that cheer on other teams and follow their success throughout the season. There’s a lot of Ankeny Xtreme pride! We are now headed into the championship portion of the schedules and I am excited to see how teams end their year at State and Nationals! Good luck to all coaches, players and fans!

2023-2024 Registration, Tryout and Team Selection

It’s time to start thinking about next season already! Here is a timeline of the next 5 weeks in our process of registration, tryouts and team selection.

May 31 2023-2024 Coaches Announced
June 1-15 Registration Period
June 19-23 Pre-Bid Selection
June 26 9U / 10U Tryouts (5:30 Registration / Warm Up, 6:00 Tryout)
June 27 11U / 12U Tryouts (5:30 Registration / Warm Up, 6:00 Tryout)
June 28 RAIN DATE – 9U / 10U Tryouts
June 29 RAIN DATE – 11U / 12U Tryouts
July 1-8 Bid Selection

NOTE: This year during registration, we will be collecting birth certificates so that coaches don’t have to do so on a team by team basis. You will simply upload it as you fill out the registration form. ALL BIRTHDATES MUST MATCH LEAGUEAPPS PROFILE. In the past, there have been situations where the birth dates were changed to fit the team kids were playing on (mostly at the 8U and under level). Those need to be edited in league apps before or during registration.

AGSA Recreational Program

Last year, AGSA had over 500 girls participate in our Recreational League. This League provides girls the opportunity to develop their softball skills in a fun, less competitive environment. At the younger ages, it is also what feeds into the competitive program for our 6U, 7U and 8U Ankeny Xtreme teams. UMPIRES NEEDED – Recreational Program

Umpires are needed to run our recreational program. Umpires are paid and are able to pick their schedule. If you or your child (14 or older) are interested in umpiring, please reach out to our Umpire and Facility Manager, Bryan Schwartz at bdschwartz39@gmail.com, to sign up or for more information.

Ankeny Xtreme Night at the Jags vs Hawkettes Game!

June 7th is Ankeny Xtreme Night at the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars vs Ankeny Hawkettes Game. The doubleheader will be played at Ankeny High School starting at 5:00. Wear your jersey to get in FREE and show your Ankeny Xtreme pride!

Battle in the Burbs X 2023 – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

This weekend AGSA is hosting our final tournament of the season, the Battle in the Burbs X. We are looking for volunteers to help with team check in, collect payments, check in umpires, hand out umpire scorecards and game balls and collect scorecards. Ankeny Xtreme Instructors

Road Construction Update

Just a friendly reminder that on June 1, the intersection of NE 18th and Ash will be closed for 2 and a half months. Be sure to plan for even more time to get to practices or games.
